PREVIEW: Hit The Deck Fest
From the team behind Dot-To-Dot comes yet another bit of multi-venue magic by the name of Hit The Deck Festival.
Having already carved a serious name for itself up in Nottingham with various sellout years, HTD comes to Bristol for the very first time, and brings with it a whirlwind of guitars and noise.
Hitting it as ‘the UK’s premier indoor alternative festival’ is a tall order, so let’s check out the line-up.
Alt-rock of course abounds, but they’ve got the sub-genres in the bag on this one. There’s melodic hardcore (or pop punk depending on your persuasion), with Title Fight and Gnarwolves getting along like a transatlantic house on fire, as well as metalcore from Bleeding Through and the like. Post-hardcore comes in the form of The James Cleaver Quintet, We Are The Ocean and Attack Attack! (US), all in distinctively different senses of the word of course.
US-style indie? Never Shout Never and the unfortunately named (but actually very good) Front Bottoms are there. Bleed From Within fly the flag for deathcore, and Sonic Boom Six for ska-core.
If you’re looking for something a bit more ‘out there’, mathcore outfit Rolo Tomassi and post-rock Leicesterians Maybeshewill are also included on this line-up release.
So with more to be announced, not too shabby, eh? Full info below.
